Fast-food equipment in the Republic of Moldova

The phrase ‘fast-food’ appeared in our speech not so long ago, but nevertheless, such establishments became a steady part of our daily routine. What are, in your opinion, the main peculiarities of such establishments? As a matter of fact, it would be more correctly to call them fast-food outlets, but this sounds rather long. To start with, fast-foods mean such establishment, where one can eat, first of all, fast and, secondly, for little money. The first option is realised due to full self-servicing, since table service is almost absent at such establishment. The second option is achieved with the help of specific food preparing techniques.

As a rule, fast-foods use half-prepared products, which are finally processed or heated right before they are given to the clients. How to choose fast-food equipment

Although the street catering system seems to be unserious, it has always been profitable. Moreover, it is rather simple: one should obtain an authorisation from municipal authorities and then buy unsophisticated and, hence, reasonably-priced equipment, which, as estimated, may pay for itself over two weeks, even in case of 70% load factor of the total capacity. There are no problems with ingredients, as well: all street dishes include a maximum of two or three ingredients. The vast variety of food equipment, which is used in the street catering, may be conditionally divided into three groups. First one is the simplest devices for preparing the products, which do not need special premises or engineering communications. The second one comprises the equipment, which is located on autonomous movable platforms and operates using a gas bottle.

The third group includes fixed-site or movable pavilions, i.e. mini-cafés comprising several kinds of fast-food equipment. The future of fast-food, i.e. average food with a definite flavour, is glittering. If the same pace of life is kept, fast-food will only develop further. The soberer people are, the less they tend to fast-food. Kyiv has already overpassed the peak of popularity in selling the fast-food and street sales equipment, by this moment. According to opinion polls, a present-day middle-class representative, who wants to have a bite, will prefer a fixed-site café with large variety of offered dishes, with quick and high-quality servicing, where they can have rest, while sitting at a table in the pleasant atmosphere. However, this is not a tendency for Ukraine as a whole. Until the middle class that has certain time for visiting restaurants is formed in Kyiv, fast-food will live and will win.
